Package girth calculator
Measure the distance around a packed parcel and compare your own longest-edge and length-plus-girth limits.
Use the two shorter edges
Girth = 2 × (width + height), with the longest edge treated as length. Length + girth adds that longest edge. All three entered edges use the same unit.
Longest edge: 60 cm · girth: 140 cm
Length + girth: 200 cm
Service rounding, weight limits and surcharges are separate checks. Enter your applicable limits; no universal carrier acceptance policy is assumed.
Which edge is the length?
The longest of the three entered edges. Girth is twice the sum of the other two edges; their order does not matter.
Does passing a size limit confirm carrier acceptance?
It only checks the entered longest-edge and length-plus-girth limits. Weight limits, dimension rounding, irregular shapes, service terms and surcharges must be checked separately.
Are dimensions rounded for a carrier?
The tool uses the dimensions as entered. Apply your service’s measurement rule before entering them. Unit conversions display three decimals and can affect a close boundary.
What does a limit of 0 mean?
That comparison is switched off. It does not mean the parcel passes every carrier’s limits.
Is girth the same as volume?
Girth is a distance around the two shorter edges. Volume multiplies all three edges; use the CBM calculator for cubic metres.
